Strengthening literacy through the strengthening of oral language, hands-on learning, community building and Indigenous story
To use Indigenous literature (graphic novels) written by Indigenous authors with my Gr. 8 English class as they worked on an inquiry/research question.
Each member of the team chose a specific research-based strategy to try to increase Indigenous learner achievement in literacy, reading, or numeracy.
On improving and maintaining the Forest Classroom environment, as well as students becoming leaders in environmental stewardship and Indigenous forestry practices.

We looked at a diverse group of 2/3 students with a range of reading abilities from pre-K to middle of grade 3.
